Purposes for which Gateway is incorporated:  

A.     To promote the growth and development of our community and to solve the fundamental problems which will improve our quality of life;  

B.      To work together to provide a "homestead enhancement" which will cultivate this historical area;  

C.      To strengthen families by reducing neighborhood blight, and deterring juvenile discord;  

D.     To impact our community by promoting civic awareness and distributing information for social welfare to develop an aware citizenry;  

E.      Notwithstanding any other provisions of these Articles, Gateway shall not carry on any activity not permitted to be carried on by a corporation exempt from Federal income tax under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 or corresponding provisions of any subsequent  Federal tax laws or by a corporation, contributions to which are deductible under Section 170(c)(2) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 or corresponding provisions of any subsequent tax laws.
